ABOUT ELIZABETH

The ERA Studio is the artist-led creative practice of Elizabeth Rose Arifien, a choreographer, director and interdisciplinary artist working across film, live performance, sound, research and responsive technology.

Elizabeth’s practice begins with the body: how movement can communicate what language cannot, and how sensory and neurodivergent perspectives can expand the ways art is made and experienced. Alongside her creative work, she collaborates with cultural organisations, universities and artists on inclusive practice, participation and interdisciplinary development.

Alongside her artistic practice, Elizabeth works as a creative consultant with cultural organisations, educational institutions and artists. Her consultancy focuses particularly on neurodivergent access and inclusion, public engagement, participatory practice, creative research and interdisciplinary programme development.
Her work and research have been developed with, supported by or presented through organisations including Royal Opera House, V&A, London College of Fashion, Rambert School, East London Dance, Arts Council England and the British Dyslexia Association. Currently based in NSW, Australia, she works across Australia and the UK.

Collaborative awards and commissions have been granted by London Directors Awards,‍ ‍Linbury Trust, Rambert School, Greenwich University, Sports London, Mayor of London, Unltd, Arts Council England, National Lottery Community Fund, Haringey Magic Grants, Arts Council England project grand and DYCP, Bootstrap Enterprise, Groundworks, Royal Opera House, English National Ballet, Tripspace, Yorkshire Dance, TripSpace, British Dyslexia Association, Yorkshire Dance, V&A, Trinity Laban and East London Dance.
